Visitors to a farm in Easton are getting an early start on the apple-picking season.
The late summer is usually reserved for picking peaches, but at Silverman's Farm apple picking is underway.
"Early apples tend to mellow a little faster than late fall apples," says Irv Silverman. "They're very good right now for baking, but you don't hold them in the refrigerator for a month."
Visitors can pick their own apples at Silverman's seven days a week. Other farms open for the season in September, Silverman says.
