ESPN is reporting that UConn men’s basketball head coach Dan Hurley is going to California Friday to meet with Lakers vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss.

The Lakers say they are eager to get a deal done.

Hurley's teams have had 4 straight NCAA tournament appearances.

He was just named coach of the year and the Huskies are paying him $32 million.

"Dan Hurley is the greatest coach in America," Gov. Lamont said Thursday. "It's no wonder professional teams are paying attention."

EPSN reported that Hurley met with the UConn administration on Wednesday and met with his team Thursday.
