Is this cold weather going to continue or are we going to see an early spring?
After Punxsutawney Phil's winter prediction, a New Jersey groundhog is seeing something different.
At Turtle Back Zoo in Essex County, Lady Edwin, of Essex, is seeing some warmer weather on the forecast.
Local officials, community members, families and kids joined the zoo Sunday morning for the proclamation.
The celebration has been an annual tradition since the 1970s.
It was a packed room with many excited visitors, all ready to find out what Edwina saw.
Some even made signs ahead of the visit or dressed up for the occasion.
Finally, the special guest made her grand appearance and the declaration.
"So today, I’m happy for clouds, no shadows to be found. Spring is much closer, and I am done underground," the prediction said.
She shared that spring will be early.
"We have a Groundhog's Day celebration at the zoo here every year. We have Lady Edwina of Essex, she comes out and gives prognostication. This year she predicted early spring, which we are all very excited about," said zoo director Jilian Fazio. "It's really nice to be able to provide kind of fun, safe, indoor space for our community members to come and celebrate Groundhog's Day."
The springtime prediction was not all that Edwina shared. She also shared who she thinks will win the Super Bowl.
Edwina says the Eagles will win the big game next weekend.
