A non-credible bomb scare resulted in an evacuation drill at Islip Middle School on Thursday.

Parents said this is the latest in a string of threats this year.

The district says graffiti was found in a restroom and that it referenced a bomb threat.

The letter said a security team worked with the school's resource officer to look over security footage, conduct locker searches and interview students.

The middle school then held an evacuation drill after the bomb scare was deemed not credible, and all of the middle school students were brought to the high school auditorium until end of day dismissal at 2:24 p.m.

"This is the fourth threat between this and last year,” said Jennifer Sabatino, whose son is an eighth grader at Islip Middle School. “This is supposedly a good neighborhood we're in and it's repeatedly the threats."

"I was questioning myself if it was real or not because they were saying it's a drill, but everyone was freaking out, “ said eighth grader Molly Cavelli. “I didn't know what to think."

The middle school says all extracurricular activities went on as scheduled.
