The Stamford community held a fundraiser to benefit a local woman with ALS.
Patti Flynn was diagnosed with the disease last June, and desperately needs a wheelchair-accessible van, bathroom renovations and nursing care.
The beloved Stamford resident says she was touched by the fundraising effort.
"I was aware of the event, but didn’t expect so much love in one room," Flynn said.
Flynn and her family say they're committed to raising awareness for everyone battling the deadly disease.
There currently is no cure for ALS, but researchers are making strides in treatment.
