Eversource says it is pausing the process of new applications for EV programs because of uncertain regulatory treatment.
The energy company claims that recent state regulatory decisions are affecting the stability of EV funding, hindering its ability to continue funding customer programs.
"Continued participation in these programs could place critically needed capital resources at risk and hinder our ability to support electric operations that our customers rely on every day," said Eversource vice president of Distribution Rates and Regulatory Requirements Doug Horton.
News 12 Connecticut’s Justin DeVellis spoke to residents about their thoughts on the announcement.
