A hearing is being held today for the former Newtown Middle School teacher accused of carrying a loaded gun to school.
Jason Adams is asking a judge to allow him into a program that could eventually clear his record.

Police say Adams had a valid permit when he took the gun to school in April, but state law prohibits firearms on school grounds.

Officials say he resigned from the school after being placed on leave.
