A former State Police trooper is facing charges in connection with the alleged rape of an 81-year-old woman in Windsor Locks.
Police said 43-year-old Jeffrey Laporto, of Windsor, has been charged with sexual assault and unlawful restraint. They say he met the victim at a bar Friday night.
Officers say the woman was taken to the hospital for "extensive internal injuries."
Laporto is due in court on Monday.
