The Fairfield American Little League team will not be moving on to the Little League World Series after losing the New England regional championship Saturday night.
The team played Cumberland, Rhode Island at Bristol's Giamatti Little League Center. Cumberland won 10 to 6, ending Fairfield's phenomenal run this season.
A win for Fairfield would have made it the third consecutive Fairfield County team to qualify for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The coach says despite the loss, the kids are taking away an amazing experience. He says many of the boys bonded this summer as teammates.
