Fairfield-based nonprofit, Save the Children is ensuring essential, child-focused supplies get into the hands of children and families affected by the ongoing wildfires.
The items include hygiene kits, as well as caregiver kits with flashlights, water bottles, blankets and portable chargers.
The wildfires in Los Angeles have been burning through the county for a nearly a week now.
The organization is beginning to plan ways to provide long-term recovery.
They are focused on children’s education, mental health and safety.
“It’s critical we get children the essentials they need to be safe and healthy – and back to learning and their everyday, comforting routines," said Lucero Chavez Ramirez, director of Save the Children’s California programs, in a statement.
