A two-time Connecticut K-5 State Chess champion has written a book about the board game.
Chehan Sethi is only 12 years old. The seventh grader at Roger Ludlow Middle School in Fairfield says he wrote the book "Become a K-5 State Champion in Chess" for one simple reason.
"I didn't want young kids running away from chess. I want them to, when they hear the five letters C-H-E-S-S, I want them to come to chess, enjoy it, play it and become better at it," Sethi said.
The young author takes part in the Dig Chess program.
"I never had a kid, at the age of 12, come up to me and say, 'Hey, I want to write a chess book.' And not only a chess book but a chess book that could help other kids in our organization. So this is amazing and I never experienced anything like this, and I know this can go a long way," said Jithu Sajeevan, of Dig Chess.
