The Fairfield community kicked off the 87th annual Dogwood Festival on Sunday afternoon at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church.
Families celebrating Mother’s Day spent the afternoon with newly blossomed dogwood trees. Small businesses also got the opportunity to showcase their products.
“It’s important for people to support small businesses, handmade businesses because this is our dream. This is something that we’ve wanted to do forever,” said Nicole Powers, the owner of Sky Blue Designs. “Some people have thought about it and have finally taken the step to start a business, and so we really appreciate everyone coming out to support us.”
The fair also featured craft vendors, live music and fundraising efforts for a handful of charities.
