Fairfield residents came together Monday to make sure the Grinch couldn’t steal one man’s holiday spirit.
Members of the community embodied the spirit of giving by donating money and decorations to John DePace after his annual Christmas display was vandalized on Reef Road.
“When I went outside, I noticed a lot of things were dented and broken and I was very upset,” says DePace.
DePace says that after sharing his frustration on Facebook, donations started pouring in.
“Donations started coming to my house and people were dropping things off, including cash donations, including decorations,” he says.
DePace says the community’s kindness is a true example of the season of giving. He says he credits the community with giving him his Christmas spirit back.
