A dog in Fairfield escaped serious harm after getting trapped under concrete Wednesday.
Fairfield firefighters posted several photos on Facebook showing how they rescued the cockapoo, named Frisco. They say they were responding to a request from Fairfield Animal Control officers.
Fairfield Fire Department Assistant Chief George Gomola says the rescue become a training exercise for saving a person. He says they treated the dog as if he were a child.
Frisco's owner, Katie Keilitz, says he dog is doing well, save for a slight limp.
The day Frisco was rescued also happened to be his birthday.
