Southwestern Connecticut food banks were in full swing Monday, distributing food to the needy before Thanksgiving.
The manager of the Fairfield branch of the Connecticut Food Bank says he's distributed more than 7 tons of food since 7 a.m. Most of the turkeys and trimmings will go to families living in the greater Bridgeport area.
Just last week, the food bank's Linwood Road warehouse was nearly bare. However, the community rallied to pump up reserves.
Officials now say they expect to be able to feed everyone in need.
