A Fairfield garden center is giving planting advice to those looking to grow plants and vegetables during the pandemic.
Lee Ganim says business at Ganim's Garden Center and Florist in Fairfield has gone up at least 30% during the coronavirus pandemic.
Ganim says those looking for a new hobby during the pandemic need to mindful of when they put their plants in the ground.
He says flowers and vegetables like tomatoes are OK to keep inside at night time when it's cold, and then to bring back outside again during the day when it's warm.
Ganim says cold crops like cabbage, lettuce and most herbs are fine to plant outside right now.
Though Ganim says his business is booming, the way the store is operating has changed to comply with social distance guidelines.
He says all the store's aisles are marked off with directional arrows for customers to follow.
Ganim says the store also offers curbside plant pickup.
