Fairfield hockey player gets good news in cancer battle
There is encouraging news for a former Fairfield hockey player who’s in the fight of his life against cancer.
Earlier this month, Charlie Capalbo’s brother and best friend Will donated much-needed bone marrow at Boston Children's Hospital. Capalbo’s father got word today that it is taking and that the prognosis is good.
Anthony Capalbo says his son has been through a lot.
“We all have our moments but most of the time he just keeps looking ahead and he manages to get through each day,” says Anthony. “Sometimes I’m not sure how he does it, but he does it."
Anthony Capalbo says if all goes well, Charlie could be back at Fairfield University this fall.
Anthony Capalbo will drop the puck for the Sound Tigers Saturday night when they honor Charlie. Part of the ticket sales will go to the family.
