Veterans Day may have already passed, but a group of high school lacrosse players and their parents are still hard at work making sure their charity lacrosse tournament runs smoothly this year.
Sticks for Soldiers is a local Thanksgiving charity lacrosse tournament that aims to help struggling young Americans who have served in the military.
By using a stick, a helmet and some passion on the field, they're able to raise not only funds but awareness for wounded servicemen and their families.
Cindy and Bob Vitale's sons played on the Fairfield Ludlowe High School's lacrosse teams. Their oldest son is an active member of the military himself.
This Thanksgiving, while their son is on active duty, the Vitales will be actively doing their part in Fairfield.
The 15th annual Sticks for Soldiers Thanksgiving Lacrosse Classic is set for Nov. 27 at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.
It kicks off at 9 a.m.
