Following the spike in cases in Fairfield, the town released a public service announcement video that features both the town's college and high school students.
Fairfield is in an orange alert following a recent rise in coronavirus cases. The town now has 1,000 confirmed positive cases.
The health director says they have seen an increase in cases at Fairfield University and Fairfield Ludlowe High School.
Fairfield First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick says the message is for everyone, not just students.
She wants the PSA to be a message of encouragement and a reminder of everyone's civic responsibility to keep yourself and others safe and it all starts by wearing a mask.
"I'm asking everyone just hang in there," said Kupchick. "I know tensions are high, everyone is feeling really stressed out, but we're gonna make it through this together."
