Area police departments say they have seen an outpouring of support in the wake of the fatal Dallas police shootings.
The Fairfield Police Department says many people have been stopping by to give their thanks. Police say they have also received food, flowers, balloons and kind emails and phone calls from residents.
The police chief says law enforcement is a close-knit community, and the past few days have been trying for officers. He adds that they're grateful for the support.
The flag outside the department is at half-staff to honor the five Dallas police officers shot and killed in the attack last week.
