Police provided an update Saturday on a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Fairfield.

It occurred in the 500 block of Redding Road Friday at 2:55 p.m. Fairfield police say Megan Raveis, 45, was walking southbound alongside the northbound lanes on Redding Road when a southbound vehicle crossed over the lanes.

The driver struck a mailbox and then Raveis. She was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Fairfield police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them at 203-254-4800.

Raveis belonged to the family who owns WIlliam Raveis Real Estate and had three children.
