Fairfield police are looking for a man they say held up a People?s Bank on Old Post Road Saturday.
Police say they got a call about the heist after just after 11 a.m. Lt. Michael Walsh of the Fairfield police says the man handed over a note and did not display a weapon. He says the man then walked out the door with the cash. Witnesses say he was wearing an uncharacteristic Australian hat with a chin strap.
The bank was shut down as police investigated the incident. Police will analyze surveillance video from the bank for help with the case.
