Fairfield police are sounding the alarm on a Bitcoin scam.
Police say a resident just got duped out of $7,000.
They say the woman was tricked into emptying her accounts after being told they were compromised.
One of the fraudulent calls was from someone posing as a Fairfield officer and even had a Fairfield police caller ID.
Police remind residents not to send money and report calls like this.
They say scammers pretend to be from common organizations and will try and trick people into thinking there is a problem or some kind of prize. They also pressure victims to act immediately.
