Firefighters in Fairfield say they are expecting to receive lots of calls about burst pipes in the coming days, as the region begins to thaw from this week’s deep freeze.
Fire and police crews were called to a home on Hoydens Hills Road Friday after a pipe burst, causing extensive damage inside.
The fire department says the extreme cold caused a cold water pipe in the house to freeze in an exterior wall.
It recommends that homeowners maintain their heat and check pipes to avoid any issues.
