The Fairfield Rotary Club hosted a forum Tuesday featuring current First Selectperson Christine Vitale and state Sen. Tony Hwang.
The forum gave candidates an opportunity to answer questions submitted by Fairfield residents.
Vitale has served as first selectwoman since July following the death of Bill Gerber. Hwang secured enough petition signatures to force the special election.
Both candidates raised concerns about the town’s recent property revaluation but differed on how much future construction Fairfield should allow.
The candidates are scheduled to meet again Wednesday night for a debate hosted by League of Women Voters on Jan. 14.
