Fairfield residents dig out after Connecticut sees first major snowstorm of the year
Fairfield residents dug out of the snow Tuesday after a nor'easter dumped 16 inches of snow on the town.
"One of the bigger ones over the last couple of years," Fairfield resident Sean McCurdy says.
He says he tries to shovel the snow in increments.
"When 8 or 9 inches were on the ground, I tried to shovel. And then just shovel this morning, the second 8 or 9 inches," he says.
McCurdy even recruited his daughter to help.
Over at the Department of Public Works, they've been busy too.
Main roads like the Post Road are clear once again.
The crews are now tackling side roads.
"Especially in a time like this with COVID and kids being so cooped up, it just gives everyone an opportunity to get outside, have fun and kind of let the hair down a little bit," McCurdy says.
