Faculty at Fairfield University are mourning the loss of one of their colleagues.
Dr. Gisela Gil-Egui, who worked at Fairfield University for 12 years as an associate communications professor, was killed in a car accident in Miami on Wednesday.
Co-workers say it's still hard to face the fact that she's gone.
"People are heartbroken. They're devastated. Very stunned," said Melissa Quan, a friend and colleague of Gil-Egui.
Gil-Egui and her husband, Jose Labrador, were picked up from the airport by her mother and brother. That's when a wrong-way driver hit the family head-on, killing all four of them.
Quan says a memorial service will be held on the Fairfield University campus later this month to remember Gil-Egui.
