A Bridgeport family that lost their home in a fire in January says they have relocated to a new house this Easter Sunday.
Nelson Kearney says it has been difficult to adjust after a fire tore the Edna Avenue apartment in which he lived with his wife, Grace, and son, 18-year-old Zane. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Kearneys stayed in a hotel for months after the fire, which they say was possible due to money generated by News 12 stories about their struggle.
Nelson Kearney works as a security officer for the Bridgeport Board of Education. His co-workers also set up a donation fund to help the family get back on their feet.
The family attended Mass on Easter to celebrate what they call the rebirth of their life.
