A Bronx family says it is forced to spend the holidays in temporary housing this year after a rodent bit a child.
Jamille Andrews says she was inside her apartment when she realized her 1-year-old daughter was bit by a rat. Andrews says the incident happened yesterday, forcing her to take her daughter to the doctor.
In addition to the rat biting her child, Andrews says her NYCHA apartment now has holes that were caused by the rodents. She says an extermination was done in the apartment months ago, but it wasn't effective.
Andrews has been told the apartment will be repaired, but she hasn't been given an exact timeline. For now, she and her daughter will have to spend the holidays in temporary housing.
News 12 The Bronx reached out to NYCHA for a response, but has not yet heard back.
