The family of a Bridgeport teen who was killed last year in a scooter accident say someone has trashed their makeshift memorial.
The brother of AJ DeJesus says about 50 candles were taken from the memorial, and whoever did it left behind garbage.
Police say the teen suffered fatal injuries when the scooter DeJesus was riding was struck by a hit-and-run driver in June 2022.
It's for someone who was killed. It has meaning -- it has a lot of meaning,” says Raymond Soler, DeJesus’ brother. “And it meant even more to us to a degree. Some people don't understand, and we just want to know why somebody would do that to my little brother. It's wrong & it's not right."
Police say they are looking into the incident.
