The family of a Norwalk man who police say drowned one week ago spoke publicly for the first time Friday.
Isaiah Gary was last seen July 8. Police say the father of seven was unconscious when he was pulled from the water off Second Street in Norwalk Harbor the morning of July 9. He died at Norwalk Hospital the next night.
The family of the 38-year-old said from their Bridgeport home that they remember him as a beloved father of seven children and a man who will be deeply missed by their community.
"It is devastating, but we're very spiritual you know," says Kamilah Bullock, Gary's sister. "I believe that he's in a good place."
Gary's family also says he was well-known for taking walks along the water. They believe the death was accidental.
"I want people to remember Isaiah for who he was, and if you really knew him you knew he was about family, you knew he was loving," says Bullock.
Authorities say the case is still under investigation.
