The family of a Bridgeport woman who was fatally struck by a car is finding a source of strength thanks to the outpouring of support from the community.
Shylane Crooks, 50, was fatally struck Monday by a BMW driven by a Trumball woman. The woman then veered and struck another car.
The victim's son, Carlton, says it's been the worst experience of his life. The 33-year-old says he is angry with the driver but forgives her. He says he knows the woman will have to live with the consequences of what she did for the rest of her life.
Family members say the community has been supportive and that seeing the memorial for Crooks has helped them get through this tough time. They have also started a
GoFundMe page.
