A family in Bridgeport says their loved one was brutally beaten and left for dead.
The family says Israel Ortiz, 48, was attacked by three men with baseball bats at Park and Benham avenues at around 4 a.m. on Dec. 30. They say the suspects made off with his wallet, which contained $24.
Ortiz was rushed to St. Vincent's in critical condition and is still recovering there three weeks later. His family says he may not be able to come home for several more weeks.
They hope somebody will come forward to help police find the attackers.
