If you're a pro-golf fan and are anxious to get to the state's only PGA event, you're in luck. Fans will be welcomed back to the Traveler’s Championship as soon as this week.
After the TPC at River Highlands took a hit with no fans last year because of the pandemic, this year, 10,000 fans will be allowed back in Cromwell each day.
Nathan Grube, of the Travelers Championship, says it’s still a far cry from normal, but a welcomed sight.
"The energy that's here…you can feel it in the air,” he says. “It's been two years since a lot of these people have gotten together, whether it's our volunteers, our vendors."
Five of the top 10 players in the world will be at the Travelers. The competition will give the fans plenty to cheer about.
"Any type of player can win here, and I think that produces some of the really cool leaderboards that you've seen over the years,” Grube says. "That's one of the things I think we're famous for, is how energetic our crowds are, and I think the players will feel that this year for sure."
Fans can start coming to the tournament on Wednesday.
Tickets can be purchased online.
