The father of a Bridgeport man who was shot during a robbery on Thursday tells News 12 that he is not happy with the lack of police presence in the area.
Police say the shooting happened near Miracle and Reservoir avenues late Thursday night. They say 23-year-old Joshua Leite was shot three times in the leg after two men tried to rob him.
Leite's father Christopher Jones says he hopes that the police do more to protect his family's safety.
"It's ridiculous. They're not patrolling our area. This isn't the first or second or third time that this has happened to one of our kids in the street on Reservoir," says Jones.
Jones says his son is expected to be OK.
Bridgeport police say the incident is still under investigation. They are asking anyone with information to contact them.
