Another noose has been found at the construction site of an Amazon facility in Windsor.
It's the eighth noose found at the site. Windsor police say the noose was found mixed in and entangled with electrical cords used for job site lighting.
The cords had not been used for more than two weeks, but police say a short piece of red rope was attached to the cords that created a noose.
Now, the CT NAACP and the Town of Windsor are calling on Amazon and its construction contractor to act vigilantly and hold those accountable who are involved.
The group says it's frustrated after holding several other news conferences for the previous nooses that were found on the site and nothing has changed. It believes the nooses are meant to intimidate workers on site.
The Town of Windsor and CT NAACP now want people to put pressure on Amazon to keep the site shut down until matters are resolved.
Amazon tells News 12 the site was shut down to allow the FBI to continue its investigation. The company says it's working with all levels of law enforcement to hold those responsible accountable.
Amazon added that hate, racism or discrimination is not tolerated in any Amazon workplace.
Gov. Ned Lamont called the disturbing discoveries "a racist provocation of the worst kind."
