Federal, state officials tour flood-ravaged Norwalk

Federal and state officials toured the banks of the Five Mile River in Norwalk to see the flood damage from a spring Nor?easter and an October storm.
Some residents say they can still feel the remnants of both storms. They say they are unsure of whether the flooding is caused by the heavy rain or by something else, such as construction. Residents invited officials to tour the area because they feel they are the only ones who can figure out how to fix it.
?There?s been a lot of neglect and a lot of things that have gone wrong,? state Sen. Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) says. ?It?s not a problem we?re going to fix overnight, but we do need a plan and need to get moving in the right direction.?
Residents say they are tired of empty promises and just want the problem fixed.
