The athletic fields at Western Middle School in Greenwich will remain closed for the immediate future.
The town released a report yesterday that says high levels of toxins, including arsenic and lead, have been found on the field.
The company that conducted the tests says it recommends excavating the fields and disposing of the soil off-site.
School officials say the fields will stay closed until a plan of action is developed.
