Final phase of I-95 bridge replacement begins

I-95 in Stamford will be reduced to two lanes for the second weekend in a row as the final phase of the Route 1 bridge construction comes to an end.

The weekend detour for Route 1 bridge construction began Friday evening, leading off a weekend of anticipated traffic impacts.
I-95 in Stamford is being reduced to two lanes for the second weekend in a row as the final phase of the Route 1 bridge construction comes to an end.
All ramps off I-95's Exit 9 will be closed, and motorists will be detoured. 
Officials say the bridge at Exit 9 on I-95 will be replaced completely by Monday.
Route 1 is closed between Courtland and Seaside avenues.
 
Motorists should expect delays. Officials advise avoiding the area if possible.
