Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch said on Friday that he is "taking off the gloves" and will begin speaking out against his opponent Joe Ganim in a way he has never done publicly before.
Finch made the announcement just two days after losing the Democratic primary to Ganim, the former mayor who spent seven years in prison for corruption.
Finch, who is now running on a third-party ticket, says he stands a much better chance of winning in the general election.
Ganim repeated his call on Friday for Finch to step aside now that he has been selected as the Democratic candidate for mayor.
Finch, however, said he is going all the way to Election Day in November.
