A scrap metal facility in Norwalk was destroyed today in a fire that set off several explosions.
The flames broke out at around 2 p.m. at Lajoie's Scrap and Recycling on Meadow Street.
The fire marshal is trying to determine a cause of the fire. A deputy fire chief at the scene said firefighters have responded to a number of fires at the facility over the years.Norwalk junkyard fire blocks school bus routes
