A Milford home has been deemed unlivable after an Easter Sunday fire.

Fire crews arrived at the home around 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening to heavy flames throughout the home.

The crews say a resident unsuccessfully tried to put out the flames with a hose, which actually cost them valuable time before calling 911.

The Red Cross is helping the affected residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
