A fire destroyed a two-family home in Stratford early Saturday morning.
The fire broke out on the back porch of a house on Surf Avenue near Goodwin Place. Firefighters say the fire started in a storage box and the flames quickly spread up to the attic, filling the house with smoke.
Firefighters say everyone managed to get out of the house safely. A neighbor also rescued a dog that belonged to one of the families.
The fire mainly burned the right side of the house, but firefighters say it is no longer safe to live in. The Red Cross is currently assisting the victims.
