Three Stamford residents will start 2008 homeless due to a devastating fire Friday night.
Cleanup crews are evaluating the wreckage as they clean the burnt out Blakely Street apartments. The apartments must be deemed structurally sound and cleaned and deodorized, if not rebuilt.
The Red Cross is helping out the three displaced residents while they stay at a hotel in Stamford. Joe Hickey, one of the relocated residents, says he doesn't know how long they'll be receiving aid or where they'll go once they're on their own again.
One of the residents and Hickey's dog were treated for smoke inhalation.
