Firefighters from five different companies are at the Fairfield Regional Fire School Thursday training to deal with serious car crashes.
The class teaches firefighters to work as a team in the event of a serious collision, such as a crash involving a tractor-trailer.
Each crew is taught to secure and lift the heavy vehicles and rescue the mock trapped victims.
Some of the firefighters are at the class on their own time and paid out of their own pocket.
