A Norwalk florist who lost his shop in a fire last November says he is having a very happy Valentine's Day.
The fire ripped through the Ludlow Shopping Center, causing serious damage to several businesses, including Licari Custom Floral Designs by J.P.
J.P. Licari says he missed out on the Christmas season due to the fire, so he set a goal to be back open by Valentine's Day.
He says he had a soft opening on Friday at his new storefront on Chestnut Hill Road so things would be ready to go for the big weekend.
"A lot of people were happy I opened because there's really no florists in this neck of the woods," he says.
Licari says he was at his old location in the Ludlow Shopping Center for nine years.
The fire marshal says the cause of the fire there remains under investigation.
