A stop in Wilton is showing that great food can bring people together.

For this week's Road Trip Close to Home, News 12's Lori Golias visited chef Alison Milwe Grace, who has spent 30 years turning food into an art form.

The Food Network personality and cookbook author now shares that passion through hands-on cooking classes, where students learn everything from holiday appetizers to comfort-food favorites.

"Anybody that walks through my kitchen doors, we're all equal, whether you're a really good chef, whether you've never picked up a knife before," Grace said.

One recent class featured recipes inspired by Dolly Parton, including Tennessee meatloaf, Brussels sprout bake and southern fried apples.

Grace says the classes are about more than following recipes. They're about learning new skills, building confidence and creating connections through food.
