Former Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch says endorsements from labor unions across Connecticut will be more important than ever in the upcoming general election cycle.
Finch, who now works for a labor union in the state, says the influence of organized labor stems from the many practical advances unions have been responsible for.
"This is a miracle that we've created in the United States of America and in this upcoming election. Organized labor is going to be so critically important to keep the momentum going, to keep the infrastructure rebuilding going, to keep the climate rebuilding going, to keep all those union jobs with health care and decent pay,” Finch said.
He says virtually all candidates for public office confer with unions and seek their input on public policy issues.
