Former Stamford resident Kierra Blount has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for check fraud charges.

Police arrested Blount in 2024 when she was found with more than $150,000 in deposited stolen checks and had nearly $300,000 in uncashed checks in her apartment.

Officials say Blount used approximately $81,000 for her personal use.

She is required to report to prison on April 8.
