A former school aide at a Wilton preschool was arrested Wednesday for allegedly possessing child pornography.
Authorities say Eric Von Kohorn worked at Miller Driscoll School on Wolfpit Road this year.
School Superintendent Kevin Smith says the district became aware of an investigation into Von Kohorn in June and immediately removed him from the school.
Parents of students in the preschool say they were shocked to first learn about the charges in an email. School officials say Von Kohorn did not harm any children from Wilton and the charges stem from actions at his home in Bridgeport.
The district letter says Von Kohorn passed a background check when he was hired in 2007. It says administrators are planning a meeting with preschool parents that will include mental health professionals and the police.
Von Kohorn is due in court in two weeks.
